Percy and his knives

Annabeth with a sword is a good idea but I wanna talk more about Percy and his knives

* Aquarius and Aries were created when Riptide was destroyed

* Yes, destroyed. Aquarius was forged from the tip, Aries was forged from the hilt

* mAGICAL

* Percy named them! They were originally just called bronze and silver (respectively), but he named them after those two zodiacs

* Both in which are not his zodiacs

* Because he’s a Leo

* Which is strange

* The blades really are magical

* Aquarius’ blade can reach subzero temperatures, Aries’ blade can reach above boiling point

* Don’t let them touch though, lots of sparks

* This is why they’re named like that - Aquarius is air and Aries is fire

* Percy talks about them like they’re his friends or something

* Very special to him because they come from a hunter

* It took a while, and some help from Annabeth, but by the time TLO comes around he’s already a knife master

* He dances when he fights! Almost like ballerina spins and kicks and slashy motions with his hands

* They’re stored as rings! Aquarius is a amethyst, Aries is an aquamarine (funny enough)

* When someone asked him where Riptide went, he stared at them and played confused, insisting that he had these knives all along

* Does the knife flip when he’s anticipating something

* Or when he’s bored

* Sometimes misses Riptide’s pen form, so he buys a pen for nostalgia

* literally half of his situations are solved because his blades are rings

* “Can I see your ring” “Not if you want to be stabbed”

* Aries is left, Aquarius is right.

* People mock him over the fact he uses knives? “You know I can fight better than you can”

* Swords are restricting, you can’t fling one across the room without injuring your wrist. But you can do it with knives

* Best at darts growing up, so he’s a natural at knife throwing.

* Can’t climb with one sword, can climb with two knives

* The blades have arched edges that snag and tear

* Thalia’s called them Christmas Knives

* Thalia’s the only one who can call them that, because she was a pine tree

* Jason noted that they looked like deformed lightning bolts

* The only downside for knives are that Percy can no longer use his blade to poke at something from a distance

* because of his new fight style, he actually did take ballet. And gymnastics, but since he also swims he’s at a decent height

* Uses his blades domestically - instant ice cream and portable microwave

* Special leather gloves that protect his hand from being burned/frozen

* Also if the Mist fails, knives are more socially acceptable than swords

* Setne swallowing his knives and Percy’s Ready To Kill The Man

* Carter’s wand turned into a kopis for Percy and even though Carter tired to tell him it was also a ‘heavy knife’ Percy didn’t like it

* “Happy happy blades chopping away” “What is wrong with you?”
